Frustration comes to mind, total mindless helpless frustration!
What can you do when you see a stray dog rummaging through the bins trying to find a scrap of nourishment to feed his aching starving body? Well, I suppose you could feed him in the knowledge that at least today he’s had a morsel of food. And then what, what happens tomorrow?
Do you ever wonder if tomorrow should ever come for these living souls?
I do, every day. Drives me insane worrying about the ones that I can’t help or the ones that are beyond help.
There are just so many dogs that one home can house before it becomes unjustifiable to those sharing that roof.
So when Lyn Nesbit, a good friend, suggested less than a year ago that I build kennels and catteries with funds raised from the website, www.pugliauncovered.com, I thought, what the hell, why not? And so we did, we raised cash and found sponsors for some of the dogs in our residence and things began to happen.
Enough monies were raised to build the cattery and a small kennel. Well, it’s only just begun.
We don't just need to raise money to house them, but feed, water, medicate, sterilise then re-home them.
We are speaking to associations throughout Europe to help us with our programme of sterilisation and also considering the feasibility of re-homing dogs in Germany.
This requires an astute organiser, communication skills, time, money and motivation. The latter of which, I’ve never lacked even in moments of frustration and anger.

Money will provide an avenue, from one door to another, but there are many steps before arriving. We need foster homes, sponsors for dogs that will never be re-homed, bedding, food, bowls, toys, water buckets and pools, grooming equipment, quality materials for building, qualified workmen with time on their hands and more than anything emotional and physical support.
